About the Tool
Every device, be it a desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile phone has different screen resolution. In today’s advanced technology of smart phones and smart gadgets, it is imperative that web and graphic designers know how to design a responsive user interface irrespective of the device being used. The Webpage Screen Resolution Simulator imitates the resolution of a device, helping the designer test websites on mobiles, ipads, laptops and desktops alike.
How the Tool Works
The Webpage Screen Resolution Simulator consists of a field wherein you need to enter the URL of your web page. Next, select a screen resolution of your choice or as per your need. For example, if you want to mimic the user interface as it would appear on a smart phone, you will need to select a screen resolution that is lesser than 480 pixels. Anything larger than 1024 pixels would correspond to a desktop resolution. Finally, click the Check button. Results are displayed in a separate window that opens with the webpage contents.
Since the job of the Webpage Screen Resolution Simulator is to imitate the screen resolution of a computer, laptop or mobile device, it gives web and graphic designers control over how they want the user to interact with the various on-screen elements. Typically, all important information or attention grabbers should be visible to the viewer without him having to scroll. Similarly, an important call-to-action button should not be hidden from view. The more user-friendly the experience of a visitor, the greater are his chances of returning to the website or making a purchase.
